Roasted red pepper hummus without added oil served at a gathering will delight your guests. Without added oil it is low in fat and keeps your body systems running smoothly.

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (Without Added Oil)

1 15 ounce can of garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drain – reserving liquid – and rinse

1 Tablespoon of lemon juice

2 green onions, chopped

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/3 cup roasted red peppers

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1/8 teaspoon salt

Place all ingredients into a high speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add reserved bean liquid as needed for desired consistency.

This roasted red pepper hummus without added oil makes a great dip for pita bread or vegetables. Or use it as a bean spread in a burrito or on a sandwich.
